How do I use the command line feature?

There are two ways to interpret "command line" in TrueGrid. This could mean running TrueGrid directly from the working directory. In particular, one can do this without the aid of the Graphical User interface. Alternatively, It can refer to commands typed into the text window.

1. running TG from a window - sometimes this is referred to as the execution line and is the typical method of running TG except for WINDOWS. Even in WINDOWS, if you start up a command prompt window, you can start TG in exactly the same way as on all other operating systems.

tg i=command_file

If you wish to run without the Graphical User Interface, the type

tg i=command_file g=nogui

You can also dispense with the command file and type the commands directly into TrueGrid.

2. issuing a command from the text window - just type in the command and enter. This requires a good understanding of the command syntax. When you select a region in the computational window, you can automatically enter the region or progression into the text window after the keyword command has been typed by clicking on the F1 function key. Be sure to have the mouse in the text window.
